You are the one who has meaning in mind that you want to communicate to readers. I'd say mention economic class if that is what you mean, or categories of other sorts if they are what you mean.
One thing missing is not letting perfect be the enemy of good. We need to build a coalition around our current conditions, not future ones. I consider myself to be a socialist, does that mean I am going to fight of Social Democrats or Communists who want to make progress? No, I am going to build a coalition based on class and progress. I think us on the left often fight over the end goal not shorter term progress. The coalition can and will change over time, but right now we need to push back against reactionaries. We share a common enemy and need to unite, in part, around that.
Identity reductionist is a danger, but I think this is more a liberal problem than something from communists tho it does still exist sometimes in these circles. good read
Thank you, I really appreciate it. Guilt-based politics as you said is not effective for building movements when looking at history or even movements today. We need to focus more on solidarity and seeing where our struggles intertwine.
Identity is unique to the individual. You need another term for category membership.
How about class as a basis for categories?
